A Slice of Summer: Our Fourth of July Alfresco
There’s a certain magic in celebrating summer’s simplest joys, especially on the Fourth of July. This year, we gathered under the shade of my favorite Rose Anne Magnolia tree on our front patio. With the afternoon light dancing across a white linen draped table, sprinkled with mini American flags and cheerful yellow blooms. Just an ordinary afternoon of juicy watermelon, fresh lemonade and, of house, sweet tea. A favorite amongst the kids and I. The very essence of a classic American summer captured in a moment.
Our daughter in her crisp white eyelet dress, sun-kissed hair catching the breeze as she swung from the oak’s sturdy branch …a picture of carefree childhood in warm July air. Meanwhile, our son and I shared a friendly backgammon match on a handsome leather set from Mark and Graham, his sunglasses adding a dash of playful sophistication to the afternoon.
As I watched them through my camera lens, I felt a swell of gratitude for these small, meaningful moments — family, freedom, and the golden glow of summer days. It was a reminder that sometimes the most memorable celebrations are the simplest: a table under the sky and the comfort of being together.
Wishing you and yours a wonderul day of celebration.
Seasonally yours,
Mandy
